This year on May 21, join TPGi for a webinar panel comprised of leaders and innovators from different industries to celebrate GAAD. They’ll discuss the challenges they face in their particular roles when it comes to implementing accessibility practices and procedures in their organizations. They will talk about how they were able to overcome obstacles as well as challenges and triumphs they envision for the future of accessibility.
Panelists:
Elizabeth Simister, Product Accessibility Manager at Blackboard Inc.
Ms. Simister’s primary focus at Blackboard Inc. is working with the design and development teams to get them to the point where all products are as accessible as possible. Her secondary focus is working with other teams and clients to spread knowledge about accessibility best practices. She has been working in the field of accessibility for over 15 years in a wide range of roles.
Kathy Wahlbin, GM of TPGi
Kathy Wahlbin is a digital accessibility expert and general manager of TPGi; she has been working in the field of accessibility since 2001. As an invited expert of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, W3C Mobile Accessibility Task Force, and the WCAG 2.0 Evaluation Methodology Task Force, she regularly contributes to the development of new accessibility standards, guidelines, techniques and methodologies.
Dena Wainright, Vice President/Enterprise Digital Accessibility Program Manager at Wells Fargo Bank
Since 2015, Dena Wainwright has served as Wells Fargo’s Enterprise Digital Accessibility Program Team Manager. During her more than twenty-five-year career, she has worked for internationally-recognized companies including Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and SAP. Dena’s passions include developing digital accessibility strategies and programs and teaching others about the criticality of supporting the right of every person to access their systems and information independently. Dena has a Masters in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She lives in Minnesota with her daughter, two Labradors, and a Mini Rex rabbit.
Katie Montie, MSW, ADA Project Coordinator at UNC Charlotte
Katie Montie is the ADA Project Coordinator for UNC Charlotte. She provides intervention, consultation, and training regarding institutional compliance with federal and state laws pertaining to individuals with disabilities. Katie’s focus areas include any University service related to building and space, electronic accessibility, Universal Design, and/or disability-related matter. She has worked with people with disabilities for over 30 years.
Stephanie Schuster, Attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP
Stephanie Schuster is a partner in Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP’s appellate practice. She helps clients navigate complex and cutting-edge issues from the earliest stages of litigation through appeal. Stephanie has delivered oral arguments in federal and state appellate courts and litigated more than 50 appeals in the areas of retail, technology, telecommunications, bankruptcy, tax, commercial, insurance, civil rights, arbitration, and constitutional law. Stephanie also litigates and counsels on issues involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and new technologies, such as websites, mobile applications, and autonomous vehicle solutions.
