Catching up with ADA Title II Regulations for Web Content and Mobile App Accessibility

Presented on November 12, 2024 at 12pm ET

Presenter: David Sloan, Chief Accessibility Officer and User Experience Practice Manager

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 is a civil rights law that protects people with disabilities from discrimination based on their disability and ensures equal access to all areas of public life.

However, the ADA was introduced at a time when the web was in its infancy and, consequently, there has been debate and disagreement over how or whether ADA requirements apply to the ever-evolving digital world. Thankfully, after many years of effort, earlier this year the Department of Justice published technical requirements for web content and mobile apps under Title II of the ADA – which applies to all state and local government services.

What does this mean for you? TPGi’s David Sloan is here to help. Join us and explore ADA’s Title II rule on accessibility of web content and mobile apps – which organizations and what kind of digital assets the rule applies to, what the requirements are, and how your organization can effectively implement a strategy for meeting the requirements when building and maintaining digital assets.
