May 19, 2022, marks the 11th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). The intention of GAAD is to create more awareness of digital accessibility, inclusive design, and the impact their digital products may have on people with disabilities if they are not made accessible.
Three for Accessibility
In honor of GAAD, TPGi is hosting three events throughout the week to help educate people on digital accessibility, how inaccessible digital products like a self-service kiosk can impact people with disabilities, and what people are doing to create more inclusive user experiences for all.
Join us in supporting Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2022 and help the co-founders (Joe Devon and Jennison Asuncion) achieve their goal of increasing the global awareness of digital accessibility and helping make the world more inclusive.
TPGi’s GAAD 2022 Agenda:
May 17 – You Don’t Know, What You Don’t Know
TPGi’s Senior Accessibility Engineer, Jonny James is set to talk about how accessibility isn’t part of the bootcamp curriculum and how a torrent of new developers are unleashed into the workforce every year, unaware and unprepared. Jonny will draw from his own experience, challenging our existing paradigm of what it means to be qualified to work in this field and how the gatekeepers of web accessibility could be harming the industry, once referred to as “the business of empathy.”
May 18 – How to create an accessible kiosk (Ask Me Anything)
Did you know that self-service kiosks need to be accessible? If you own or are considering launching self-check-in kiosks or lockers at some of your business locations or are currently researching how you can improve your customer experiences, this session is for you.
Join Matt Ater, Vice President, Corporate Business Development, Vispero; Laura Miller, Director of Business Development, Vispero; and Ryan Jones, Solutions Architect, TPGi, on May 18 at 1 PM eastern. They will answer your questions on how to create accessible kiosk experiences.
May 19 – Creating Inclusive Customer Experiences Through Digital Accessibility
In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), TPGi is connecting with and highlighting individuals that are passionate about advancing digital accessibility programs at their organizations and are focused on creating inclusive customer experiences.
Join host TPGi’s Mark Miller, Director – Emerging Accounts & Platform, with special guests.
This conversation will help you learn about how these individuals started their accessibility program, the challenges they encountered, what maturity stage their accessibility program is currently, and helpful tips they can share to help your digital accessibility operate more efficiently.
